Picture Day happens every year.
So does spirit week.
So does sports registration.
So do holidays, birthdays, and school breaks.
Yet somehow, they still feel like emergencies.
That’s because we don’t plan for what we know is coming — we wait until it demands attention.
A predictable emergency is something that causes stress only because it wasn’t placed on a timeline early enough.
The fix is simple:
Identify recurring events
Ask what usually goes wrong
Move the preparation earlier than feels necessary
When you plan ahead, small tasks stay small. When you wait, they become urgent, emotional, and disruptive.
Nothing is more calming than realizing you already handled it.
